My Memphis dream came true

For I can now cross off many things on to to do list. I went to go see Graceland, which was amazing!!
The day before we set up camp in from the Graceland gates for the vigil that night. the family showed up unannounced and everyone got static that they we there. Apparently they never show to the vigil, so for them to show up and talk to everyone, was the biggest deal. The vigil was amazing, once you passed the gates you could hear a pin drop. Everyone was so respectful and EVERYONE stayed super quiet once in the gates. From the gates to the grave sight, it took two hours. Totally worth every minute though. The people around us were there for the very first vigil, so we got to get a little background of how the vigil really started. We found out the next day that 75,000 people showed up this year for the vigil. When we asked around, and found out that usually only 35,000 people usually show up. So, we definitively went on the right year.
The day of his death, there was a concert we got VIP tickets for. The VIP section included being 5 feet away from Priscilla and Lisa Marie Presley. A DREAM COME TRUE!!! The next day we went to the Lorraine hotel, where Martin Luther King Jr was shot and took his last day on earth. The whole hotel has been turned into a museum of black history. It's a pretty incredible museum. At the end of the it is the hotel room Martin Luther stay in. It hasn't changed since he has been there. Everything has been preserved just the way he left it. It's kind of eerie... but amazing at the same time.
We covered every inches of Memphis looking and discovering every where Elvis played, lived, hung out, and ate. It was a amazing trip!
